Master of Laws degree
After several years’ study by a combination of distance learning and face to face weekend seminars, in 2018 Mr Britten was awarded the taught degree of Master of Laws with Distinction by De Montfort University Leicester.

- Clinical negligence
- Regulation of healthcare professionals, including the GMC and MPTS
- Coronial law, including Article 2 inquests
Dissertation
Mr Britten’s dissertation was awarded a high distinction on the subject of ‘Understanding of consent and risk disclosure among orthopaedic surgeons post-Montgomery’. It included a critical appraisal of the relevant case law and a survey of 194 practising UK consultant orthopaedic surgeons.
